Heritage Vinyl Products' Patented Teck Deck System
Receives BOCA-ES Research Report Number

MACON, Miss., March 4, 1998 -- Heritage Vinyl Products' patented Teck Deck system has completed evaluation for compliance with the 1996 edition of the BOCA National Building Code. BOCA Evaluation Services, Inc. has authorized use of Research Report No. 96-10, which evaluates the use of Teck Deck as an alternative to a combustible flooring.

"The report shows that Teck Deck is equivalent to materials prescribed in the code in quality, strength, effectiveness, fire-resistance, durability and safety," said Cheryl Coenen, Heritage Vinyl Products product manager. Authorized use of this report (96-10) allows builders, contractors, and code officials to know in advance that Teck Deck has been shown to specifically comply with code requirements outlined in (96-10).

"Teck Deck's patented two-piece design is unsurpassed in the industry," Coenen said. The design consists of a top and bottom piece that snaps together to create a single unit. Accessories that provide for a complete system include L-, T-, and U-channels and joist covers.

Unlike wood, Teck Deck never needs sealing or painting. It has no protruding nails and will not splinter, crack, rot or fade. Its UV inhibitors keep the deck surface cool even on the hottest days.

Coenen added that Heritage Vinyl Products has demonstrated its leadership position as the first company to receive a BOCA-ES Research Report number on a U. S. manufactured vinyl decking system.

Heritage Vinyl Products are manufactured and marketed by Outdoor Technologies Inc., one of the largest suppliers of vinyl fencing, decking and accessories in North America. The company's products are marketed under Heritage Vinyl Products and Teck Deck brands.
